Florida Student Selected to Participate in Lessons for Success

Ms. Aarthi Madhavan, a doctoral student in the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions’ department of speech, language, and hearing sciences, has been selected to participate in Lessons for Success, a research mentoring program for emerging scientists offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association April 27-29 in Rockville, MD.

Lessons for Success offers training in grant preparation and funding opportunities; development and management of a successful program of research; and advancement of professional competencies. Participants include Ph.D. candidates, postdoctoral fellows or junior faculty who show promise for a productive research career.

A member of UF’s Swallowing Research Laboratory, Ms. Madhavan’s dissertation research focuses on dysphagia in community-dwelling older adults.
