Former ASPPH/CDC Fellow, Dr. Abraham Deng Ater (MPH, Arizona and DrPH, Georgia Southern) was the subject of a recent article in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Dr. Ater’s inspiring journey from the South Sudan as a “Lost Boy”, to the U.S. as a Public Health leader at the CDC, is the focus of the article. After receiving his MPH at Arizona, his career at CDC began in 2012 as an ASPPH Fellow in CDC’s Center for Global Health. He later went on to earn his DrPH at Georgia Southern.
