Georgia and Texas A&M Assistant Professor Named Centenarian before Age Thirty-Five

Dr. Matthew Lee Smith, assistant professor at the University of Georgia College of Public Health and adjunct assistant professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, has over 100 peer-reviewed articles accepted for publication in scholarly journals within five years of receiving his PhD. Dr. Smith completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Dr. Marcia Ory, Regents and Distinguished Professor of the Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health in June 2010. He is also co-investigator/consultant on several of Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health’s state-wide and national program evaluations. The recognition will be made during the award ceremony for the Aging and Public Health section of the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting in November.
