The Public Health Student Association (PHSA) housed at the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Georgia Southern University will be celebrating the National Public Health Week from Monday, April 2 – Friday, April 6. On Monday, PHSA will be partnering with the Campus Counseling Center and have students interact while receiving informational materials and learn about behavioral health as well as making stress balls in exchange for Insomnia Cookies. On Tuesday, in partnership with the University Health Services, PHSA will have STI prevention – game activities whereby winners and every other participant receive some snacks for participation. PHSA will also be handing out informational materials (facts and figures on common communicable diseases) to participants. On Wednesday, PHSA will have a campus clean- up competition that will begin at the College of Public Health building (Hendricks Hall) and the aim of this is to promote better environmental health. The week-long events will be wrapped up on Friday, April 6th where students, staff and faculty will be treated to an ice cream social in a relaxing and interactive setting. There will be games and other stress relieving activities to mark the end of National Public Health Week celebration.
