Georgia Southern Increases Emergency Preparedness Efforts

Georgia Southern University Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health recently completed a comprehensive building emergency preparedness plan. Preparedness areas covered by this plan include fire evacuation procedures, medical emergencies, inclement weather, and course of action in the event of an active shooter. The college has two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and other emergency supplies to increase our state of readiness if an emergency were to occur. In conjunction with this plan, Georgia Southern is in their second year of mandatory training in First Aid, CPR, and AED for all graduate assistants and staff. Georgia Southern is working collaboratively with the fire marshall, public safety, and environmental services to expand their outreach across the University.
