Undergraduate student Ms. Toni Rose was honored with third place for her poster presentation at the 2019 Atlanta Undergraduate Conference on Health and Society.  Her research, Closing The Gap on Health Disparities Among The Minority Aging Population, discussed the health disparities that minority aging populations face within the healthcare system and the World Health Organization (WHO)’s establishment of the Commission on Social Determinants of Health (CSDH) to target, combat, and reduce these inequalities.

Ms. Rose, who is in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program in the Georgia State University School of Public Health, was one of 18 student researchers from Georgia State who presented at the conference under the supervision of Dr. Carlos A. O. Pavão, faculty in the undergraduate program.
