Dr. David Michaels, a professor of environmental and occupational health at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health (GW Milken Institute SPH), has been appointed to the National Toxicology Program’s Board of Scientific Counselors.
The National Toxicology Program is part of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). Its Board of Scientific Counselors is a federally chartered advisory committee that provides scientific advice and oversight to the program. Dr. Michaels is the second faculty member at GW Milken Institute SPH to be appointed to the prestigious group.
Dr. Michaels, an epidemiologist, served as the Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) under the Obama Administration.
