The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has been selected as the recipient of the 2019 ASPPH Harrison C. Spencer Award for Outstanding Community Service. The annual award, named in honor of the late former President and CEO of ASPPH, is presented annually to an ASPPH-member school or program with a long-standing, major institutional commitment to engage with their community to improve public health. The Texas A&M School of Public Health was the other finalist for the award. Both Hopkins and Texas A&M will be recognized at the ASPPH Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 21, during the ASPPH Annual Meeting. The finalists were selected by a review panel and the awardee was selected by the ASPPH Executive Committee following staff site visits.
