The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) hosted a virtual certificate-conferring institute on the theme of Building Effective Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice for 126 attendees in early December 2020. Faculty teams, health partners, and single learners joined to emerge with a concrete, programmatic action plan for developing and implementing IPE curricula to prepare their student learners for effective collaborative practice. Alumni from the program will become the first cohort in a new virtual community where they will continue to advance their educational projects or curricula, network, and receive feedback from colleagues and experts. ASPPH members, Dr. Christine Arcari (University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health) and Dr. Cara Pennel (University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Graduate Program in Public Health) were among the active participants. Stay tuned in this space and on the IPEC website for news and registration information on the upcoming Virtual May 2021 IPEC Faculty Development Institute planned for May 18, 20, 25, and 27, 2021.
