The 15th Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Institute hosted 21 teams of 97 attendees hailing from 17 states, 20 cities, and two countries this week in Phoenix, AZ on the theme of Advancing & Sustaining Your Program for Collaborative Practice. Over the course of the 201-level three-day workshop, faculty participants worked to enhance their interprofessional programming to better prepare their students with competencies to practice real-world interprofessionalism.
Representing public health on the opening panel was Dr. Dale Bratzler (Oklahoma). Dr. Linda Cushman (Columbia) returned for her second institute with an interprofessional team from her university.
The next IPEC faculty development institute, entitled Interprofessional Education: Building a Framework for Collaboration, is considered a 101-level institute and is geared toward faculty at earlier stages of their formation. It will run May 22-24, 2019 at the AAMC Learning Center in downtown Washington, DC. Registration will open in the coming weeks here.
