The American Medical Group Association (AMGA) announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors, beginning their tenure in January. Among those joining the AMGA Board is University of Iowa College of Public Health alumnus Mr. Aric Sharp (MA ’97), vice president of accountable care, UnityPoint Health, West Des Moines, Iowa. Published on January 8.
Mr. Sharp is responsible for leading UnityPoint Health Partners, an ACO network of more than 2,500 physicians and providers across Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. He also leads the population heath initiatives across the UnityPoint Health system.
Mr. Sharp has received many honors throughout his career and recently was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 12 Up & Comers under 40 years old from across the United States. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Iowa MHA Program, and his work has been cited in various trade journals including Inside Health Policy, Modern Healthcare, HealthLeaders, Hospital & Health Networks, Group Practice Journal, and Becker’s Hospital Review.
