Iowa Studies Characteristics of Cancer Patients Who Receive No Treatment

Despite advances in the treatment of many cancers, a number of patients choose not to be treated. In Iowa, more than 12 percent of those who learn they have cancer don not pursue treatment, according to research led by Dr. Marcia Ward, professor of health management and policy in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa, and published in the Journal of Oncology Practice.
