Conducted by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), the second annual Interprofessional Leadership Development Program (ILDP) wrapped up today with 55 attendees from 27 institutions. The three-day, interactive professional development experience guided deans, senior academic leaders and administrators responsible for campus-wide interprofessional education on how to better lead in an interprofessional environment. It achieves this goal by helping attendees:
• Collaborate with colleagues and peers on real IPECP projects
• Learn about what works to advance IPECP on other campuses
• Engage with national and internationally recognized leaders from national associations and health professions education
• Learn how to make the case for IPE through outcomes assessment
ASPPH was represented at the meeting by Dr. Mike Bisesi (OSU), senior associate dean of academic affairs, professor, and interim chair, environmental health sciences, who attended as a learner, and Dr. Laura Magaña, ASPPH president and CEO, who joined in a presentation, “How to Engage in National IPE Initiatives—Panel Discussion, with Q&A.” Fellow panelists included: Dr. Lucinda Maine (American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy), Dr. Stephen Shannon (American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine), and Dr. Deborah Trautman (American Association of Colleges of Nursing).
