IU Bloomington: Faculty Researcher named APS Rising Star

Dr. Patrick Quinn, an assistant professor at the Indiana University  School of Public Health – Bloomington, has been selected as a Rising Star in the Association for Psychological Science (APS). APS Rising Stars reflect the best and brightest of psychological science. The Rising Star designation recognizes outstanding psychological scientists in the earliest stages of their post-PhD research career whose innovative work has already advanced the field and signals great potential for their continued contributions.

Dr. Quinn uses longitudinal data on individuals and families to study the causes and consequences of substance use. His current research analyzes large-scale healthcare data and related information to examine pharmacotherapies with the potential for abuse, particularly opioid pain medications and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) medications.

APS is the leading international organization dedicated to advancing scientific psychology across disciplinary and geographic borders. The complete list of new Rising Stars will appear in the January issue of the Observer.
