IUPUI: Five-Year Research Grant Awarded to Faculty

Dr. Emily Ahonen, assistant professor at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health – Indianapolis (IUPUI), received a five-year grant for the research program, “Effects of non-standard work arrangements on health, work and families – solutions for the future in Sweden.”

The purpose of the program, which involves extensive international collaboration and comparison, is two-fold. It will deepen the understanding of how non-standard work arrangements affect individuals, families and communities and how these contribute to inequalities in work environment, health and well-being. The program will also identify initiatives that counteract the negative effects of non-standard work arrangements and increase the ability of workers to participate, exercise empowerment, and live healthy lives.
