IUPUI: Researcher Receives National Institutes of Health Grant

Dr. Giorgos Bakoyannis, assistant professor of biostatistics at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health – Indianapolis (IUPUI), received an R21 grant from the National Institutes of Health – National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The grant will help Dr. Bakoyannis develop novel statistical methods for nonparametric and semiparametric estimation of the cascade of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) care under incomplete outcome ascertainment and misclassification. This research will aid the efforts by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and other international organizations to generate valid estimates and projections about key HIV outcomes around the world.
