The Bloomberg American Health Initiative has launched the American Health Podcast, which will feature interviews and stories related to the Initiative’s five focus areas: addiction and overdose, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, risks to adolescent health, and violence. The Initiative is a project of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and was established in 2016 to tackle critical challenges to public health in the United States.
The first episode, released last week as the nation marked the five year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting, features an interview with Professor Dr. Daniel Webster covering concealed carry reciprocity and other gun law and policy issues.
New episodes will be released once a month, if not more frequently. January’s episode will be about the use of medication as part of opioid addiction treatment and features Dr. Brendan Saloner, assistant professor in health policy and management at Johns Hopkins.
