Johns Hopkins Faculty Help Develop West Virginia Opioid Response Plan

Two Johns Hopkins researchers were part of a team that developed a proposed plan to address the opioid crisis in West Virginia. Dr. Sean Allen, an assistant scientist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Dr. Shannon Frattaroli, an associate professor at the Bloomberg School, helped develop a proposed plan that focuses on six key areas: high-priority, short-term recommendations for prevention, early intervention, treatment, overdose reversal, supporting families with substance use disorder, and recovery. The team included faculty from Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and West Virginia University School of Public Health, among others.
