Johns Hopkins: International Conference on Family Planning To Be Held in Thailand February 2021

The sixth International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) will take place in Thailand in 2021 and will be co-hosted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, the Kingdom of Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, The Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and the Population and Community Development Association.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health is based in the Johns Hopkin Bloomberg School of Public Health Department of Population, Family and Reproductive health.

Every other year since 2009, the International Conference on Family Planning has brought together the family planning community to share best practices, celebrate successes, and chart a course forward. The ICFP serves as a strategic inflection point for the global family planning and reproductive health community. The ICFP remains the largest scientific conference on reproductive health and family planning in the world.

Thailand serves as an example for other low- to middle-income countries about the great strides that are possible in reproductive health, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and other development indicators by investing in family planning.

The conference will provide an opportunity for political leaders, scientists, researchers, policymakers, advocates, and youth to disseminate knowledge, celebrate successes, and identify next steps toward reaching the goal of enabling an additional 120 million women to access voluntary, quality contraception by 2020—and beyond.
