Johns Hopkins: New Episode of the American Health Podcast: An Interview with Georges Benjamin, Executive Director of APHA

A new episode of the American Health Podcast has an in-depth discussion with Dr. Georges Benjamin, executive director of American Public Health Association (APHA). The American Health Podcast is created by the Bloomberg American Health Initiative at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

In a candid conversation with Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, professor of the practice and director of the Bloomberg American Health Initiative, Dr. Benjamin discusses the politics of current health issues and the special challenges of working for health equity in 2019.

Dr. Benjamin is considered one of the nation’s most influential physician leaders because he speaks passionately and eloquently about the health issues having the most impact on our nation today. He’s been executive director of APHA since 2002.

The Bloomberg American Health Initiative works to tackle some of the most pressing challenges to public health in the United States: addiction and overdose, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, risks to adolescent health, and violence.
