Johns Hopkins: Student Named Benton County (Oregon) Health Director

Ms. Dawn Emerick, a student at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, has been named director of the Benton County (Oregon) Health Department. Ms. Emerick is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science (MAS) in population health management at the Bloomberg School.

The Health Department is Benton County’s largest administrative division, with roughly 130 employees. Ms. Emerick has served as public health director of Clackamas County (Oregon) since 2016. Before going to work for Clackamas County, Ms. Emerick served as administrator of the St. Johns River Rural Health Care Network and president and CEO of the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida.
