Johns Hopkins The American Health Podcast Explores Permit-To-Purchase Gun Laws

Faculty from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health are among those discussing permit-to-purchase gun laws in the latest The American Health Podcast. The podcast is created by the Bloomberg American Health Initiative, a project of the Bloomberg School.

In the episode, participants take a look at what these laws do, what the data says about them, and how the current momentum in favor of stricter gun laws could lead to an expansion of permitting or licensing laws.

Podcast participants include Dr. Daniel Webster, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research; Dr. Cassandra Crifasi, assistant professor in the Bloomberg School’s department of health policy and management: Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD); Mr. Josh Horwitz, executive director, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence; and Mr. William Evans, executive director of public safety and chief of police, Boston College, and former Boston Police Commissioner.
