Kentucky: Collaboration Fuels $8.8 Million NIDA Project to Support Research on Addiction Treatment in Criminal Justice Settings

The University of Kentucky recently received an $8.8 million grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to establish a Clinical Research Center as part of the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network to support research on quality addiction treatment for opioid use disorder in criminal justice settings nationwide. Dr. Michele Staton, UK College of Medicine, is the principal investigator. Co-investigators include Dr. Heather Bush, professor and chair of biostatistics in the University of Kentucky College of Public Health.
