University of Kentucky College of Public Health associate dean for academic and faculty affairs, Dr. Kathryn Cardarelli, has been selected as a 2014-2015 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Leadership Development Program (ALDP) fellow. The program is a professional development initiative with the goal of identifying, preparing and advancing academic leaders for roles in institutions within the SEC and beyond.
Dr. Cardarelli joins 47 other faculty and administrators in this year’s class. Since its creation in 2008, the SEC ALDP has graduated more than 230 faculty members and administrators, many of whom have gone on to become deans and provosts at universities across the country.
“The SEC ALDP, through formal workshops and on-campus activities, aims to provide future academic leaders the opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to meet the challenges of academic leadership,” stated Dr. Peter Ryan, the Chair of the SEC ALDP.
