Loma Linda: Student Association Celebrates NPHW with Public Health and Malaria Awareness Event

On Wednesday of National Public Health Week (NPHW), Loma Linda University School of Public Health Student Association (SA) organized an event to bring awareness about Malaria and Public Health in general. SA President Mr. Anthony Gittens described the event for us. “The purpose for our NPHW event was one of awareness; it was three-fold. We wanted to first bring awareness to the campus that it was National Public Health Week. Students were given information on how to take advantage of the counseling services available to them on the LLU campus. They were also given the opportunity to sign up and take part in preventing malaria by donating money to buy mosquito nets and distribute them to Central African countries through the organization Nothing But Nets.”
