LSU: Archdiocese of New Orleans’s Distinguished Award

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Public Health information technology (IT) analyst, Mr. Carl Kluttz was awarded the 2019 Archdiocese of New Orleans’s Distinguished Alumni Award for St. Cletus Catholic School in Gretna Louisiana.  This Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes certain alumni for their service and outstanding contributions to his/her community in the chosen field and supporting the local schools and organizations. Mr. Kluttz leads the development of the Boy Scouts of America’s Public Health Merit Badge Class with Dr. Donna Williams, Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Community Engagement. LSUHSC SoPH and the Student Government Association (SGA) sponsor an Annual Merit Badge Class every year to conclude National Public Health Week.  Boy Scouts from all over the New Orleans area attend the class instructed by MPH students with the assistance of Mr. Kluttz, to receive hands-on experiences about important issues within Public Health.  Mr. Kluttz is a wonderful example of exceptional involvement and commitment to the success of LSUHSC and his local community.
