In 2019, the University of Maryland School of Public Health inducted 35 members into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Inductees included students, faculty, alumni and Delegate Joseline A. Peña-Melnyk, Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Representing District 21, which includes parts of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties, Ms. Peña-Melnyk is a strong public health advocate and friend of the School of Public Health. Among her many legislative accomplishments, she has championed better access to health care for all Marylanders and sponsored many bills over the past ten legislative sessions in support of LGBT issues.
The UMD School of Public Health’s chapter, Gamma Zeta, was established in 2011 to honor our distinguished students, alumni, faculty and honorary members.
