Specialist Mr. Jay McCutcheon, a second-year MHA student at The University of Memphis School of Public Health, received the 2018 Tim Campbell Award from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). SPC McCutcheon joined the Tennessee Army National Guard due to a desire to serve his community and nation. His career interests within health administration are finance and compliance, particularly accreditation and licensing. SPC McCutcheon is the Compliance and Licensing Coordinator at The Transformation Center, a behavioral health facility in Cordova, TN. He is also working with Dr. Aram Dobalian, director of the Division of Health Systems Management and Policy, to conduct research to establish a Veterans’ Institute at the University of Memphis which will provide services to veterans, military service members, and their families to help them with the process of reintegration and readjustment to civilian life post-deployment. SPC McCutcheon is a “focused, mission-driven servant leader” who exemplifies the commitment and dedication that Mr. Tim Campbell brought to his own community.
