Michigan: Call for Papers on Hospitals’ Benefit to the Community through Research, Policy and Evaluation

Abstracts are due June 15 for papers on hospitals’ benefit to the community: research, policy and evaluation to be submitted to the special Education and Promotion issue of Frontiers in Public Health. The purpose of this research topic is to disseminate research, policy and evaluation studies pertaining to hospitals’ provision of formal “community benefit” as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as the broader perspective of hospital efforts — including those of non-profit, for-profit, and government organizations — to improve the health of their communities. Peer reviewed literature pertaining to recent developments in community benefit is relatively scarce. This special issue seeks to document the ways that hospitals and health systems are contributing to the health of the communities they serve. Abstracts are requested but not mandatory. A range of article types are invited. Full papers are due October 31, 2019.
