Michigan Center Releases Public Health Workforce Taxonomy

The University of Michigan Center of Excellence in Public Health Workforce Studies announces the release of a public health workforce taxonomy, which can be used by public health services and systems researchers to improve standardization of workforce survey instruments and analyses. The taxonomy is presented in an article co-authored by center director Dr. Matthew L. Boulton; associate director Dr. Angela J. Beck; professor Dr. Charles Friedman; and an advisory committee representing government agencies, professional organizations, and academic institutions. It is available as part of the open access November supplement issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, which was sponsored by the Center of Excellence and CDC (http://www.ajpmonline.org/issue/S0749-3797(14)X0016-4).
