The University of Michigan School of Public Health recently named Dr. Sharon Kardia as Associate Dean for Education. In the role, Dr. Kardia will be dedicated to ensuring Michigan Public Health students have an enriching and fulfilling classroom experience and that the school’s programs continue to evolve and represent the full landscape of public health both now and in the future.
Dr. Kardia has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the school through her continued administrative leadership ranging from positions as department chair to Senior Associate Dean for Administration to faculty lead for the school-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to faculty lead for development and launch of the online MPH in Population Health.
She has consistently put in place systems and supports to ensure that Michigan Public Health faculty can be successful teachers and can embrace new modes of teaching delivery and academic innovation. In addition, Dr. Kardia is a stellar instructor who consistently receives high marks for her teaching effectiveness, who has distinguished herself as an academic innovation trailblazer, and who has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring master’s and doctoral students.Friday Letter Submission, Publish on February 14
