Michigan Professor Honored with American Medical Informatics Association Award

Dr. Julia Adler-Milstein, an assistant professor with a dual appointment in the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Management and Policy and in the School of Information, has been honored with the American Medical Informatics Association’s (AMIA) New Investigator Award. She was honored with the award during AMIA’s Annual Symposium in Washington, DC, from November 15 – 19.

The New Investigator Award recognizes an individual for early informatics contributions and significant scholarly contributions on the basis of scientific merit and research excellence. The AMIA Signature Awards program provides an opportunity for AMIA members at different stages of their career to be recognized for significant contributions to the field of informatics.

“Dr. Adler-Milstein has proven herself worthy of the New Investigator recognition during her work at the University of Michigan, Partners Healthcare and Accenture and as an engaged AMIA member” said Dr. AMIA Chair Blackford Middleton, of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. “We congratulate Dr. Adler-Milstein on her accomplishments in the field of informatics and her commitment to AMIA’s mission.”
