Minnesota Faculty Named to National Cancer Institute Editorial Board

University of Minnesota School of Public Health Professor Dr. Timothy Church has been named to the Editorial Board for Screening and Prevention of the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Physician’s Data Query. The service is NCI’s comprehensive source for cancer-related information, including evidence-based summaries for treatment, screening, and prevention.

Church begins his term with the board on March 16.

Dr. Church is a long-time researcher focusing on mass screening for cancer as well as other chronic diseases. He is currently conducting the National Lung Screening Trial; the Prostate, Lung, Ovarian, and Prostate Cancer Screening Trial; the pilot study for the National Colonoscopy Trial; a study of risk factors for prostate cancer; two trials of chemoprevention of polyps; a study of familial colon cancer; and a study of colorectal cancer screening promotion. Church teaches courses on occupational epidemiology and a doctoral seminar on causal inference.
