Minnesota Study among Top JAMA Dermatology Articles of the Past Year

JAMA Dermatology recently recognized a study authored by University of Minnesota School of Public Health associate professor Dr. DeAnn Lazovich as one the journal’s most talked about articles of the past year. The study, “Association Between Indoor Tanning and Melanoma in Younger Men and Women,” ranks third in attention received from news organizations and social media. Coverage of the study included stories from 25 major news outlets, and posts from 60-plus active “Tweeters.”

Among the study’s various findings, it revealed that women younger than 30 years old were six times more likely to develop melanoma if they had previously tanned indoors.
