Nevada, Reno: Member Appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to Prestigious California Carcinogens Identification Committee

Dr. Dana Loomis, professor of environmental health for the University of Nevada, Reno  School of Community Health Sciences, was recently appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to the California Carcinogens Identification Committee.  The committee was formed as a result of Governor Brown signing Prop 65 into action, which develops guidelines and warnings for health risks associated with certain products.

Dr. Dana Loomis has had an extensive career with the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and with the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where he was the director of the UNR School of Community Health Sciences and was a professor of epidemiology and environmental sciences at the University of North Carolina.
