Dr. James Wilson, an assistant research professor for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Community Health Sciences and director of the Nevada Medical Intelligence Center at the University of Nevada, Reno has recently published an article entitled “The Use of Intelligence to Determine Attribution of the 2010 Haiti Cholera Disaster”. The article discusses the United Nations’ involvement in the introduction of cholera into the Haitian community following the devastating 2010 earthquake. Dr. Wilson utilized Haiti Epidemic Advisory System (HEAS) to connect the advent of the cholera outbreak with the contamination of the Artibonite River by sewage from the Napolese United Nations peacekeepers.
