She had previously served as professor and chair of the school’s biostatistics and epidemiology department.
Dr. Homan has a substantial background in research and research administration. In this new role, she will lead the efforts of the school’s research committee to advance and further develop faculty research efforts and collaborations.
As an evaluator, biostatistician and researcher, she has worked for more than 35 years in education and population health. Her areas of emphasis include biostatistical consulting, maternal mental health research, family and school violence prevention, program evaluation, design and analysis of community-based research, logic models and knowledge management.
Dr. Homan has been with North Texas since 2012. Her prior experience includes public health leadership and teaching positions with Rockhurst University, Kansas Health Institute and Saint Louis University. She received her doctoral and master’s degrees from the University of Iowa, studying biostatistics, preventive medicine and environmental health, and completed additional graduate studies in genetics and statistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
