Northwestern: University Center for Global Health Education Faculty Co-Lead Journal Issue on Global Health Promotion

Northwestern University faculty in the Center for Global Health EducationDr. Leah C. Neubauer, assistant director and Dr. Ashti Doobay-Persaud, co-director — have co-edited a publication of “Pedagogy for Global Health and Health Promotion,” an issue of its peer-reviewed journal Pedagogy in Health Promotion: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (PHP).

The March 2020 issue, co-developed by Drs. Bojana Berić-Stojšić, Doobay-Persaud and Neubauer, features nine articles and a guest editorial describing innovative approaches to the rapidly growing undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and fellow training and professional preparation programs in global health promotion. The co-guest editors write, “Although global health is a vast and complex field, there are universal goals and competencies that are necessary to guide effective teaching and learning.” The content highlights the unprecedented opportunity to learn from global educational programs about core foundations, frameworks, strategies, and goals to best prepare the health promotion workforce for 21st century global health challenges.
