Ohio State Evaluating Health Department’s Prevention and Intervention Programs

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has just awarded Ohio State University College of Public Health with a $255,000 contract to assess several of the state health department’s highest-profile prevention and intervention programs. Evaluations will be conducted of the following ODH programs: Creating Health Communities, Injury Prevention Sub-Grantee Planning and Technical Assistance, Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided with Naloxone), State Violence and Injury Prevention, and the Early Childhood Obesity Prevention program. The project will be housed in the Ohio State Center for Health Outcomes, Policy and Evaluation Studies (HOPES) and will involve faculty from the College of Public Health and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
