Dr. Brad Cardinal, a professor in Oregon State University College of Public Health and Human Sciences, is one of 92 members of the American Psychological Association (APA) to be elected to Fellow status in 2019, and one of only seven to be elected by more than one division.
“Fellow status is an honor bestowed upon APA members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. Fellow status requires that a person’s work has had a national impact on the field of psychology beyond a local, state or regional level.”
Dr. Cardinal’s initial election was through Division 38, Society for Health Psychology. In addition, he was elected to Fellow status through Division 47, Society for Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology as a current Fellow, making him the first person from Oregon to be elected to this division and one of only six west of the Mississippi.Tags: Friday Letter Submission, Publish on December 13
