1.       In one sentence, what is public health to you?

To me, public health is about advocating for all people to experience their full potential.

2.       What inspired you to study public health?

I was inspired by the idea that work in public health has the potential to improve thousands — and even millions — of lives.

3.       What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

The most rewarding experience of public health for me has been the collaboration: Public health brings together communities, researchers, and policymakers to make the world a better place.

4.       What is the one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were starting out in public health?

I wish somebody had told me not to be afraid of going to office hours and making time to get to know faculty, even when I didn’t have anything specific to ask them about.

5.       What do you think is the biggest challenge that the public health field should be focusing on?

I think the impending effects of climate change pose a major global crisis that public health should be focusing on.
