1. In one sentence, what is public health to you?

Public Health is empowering individuals to make positive changes in their own health as well as in the community around them.

2. What inspired you to study public health?

Observing the dietary patterns of customers when I was 16 years old working at McDonald’s.

3. What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

Seeing how the work I’m doing is actually impacting lives and that individuals are disseminating this information to others.

4. What is the one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were starting out in public health?

Look at all the different areas of public health. There are some fields you may not even know about and that could be where your true passion is.

5. What do you think is the biggest challenge that the public health field should be focusing on?

Healthcare communication gap.
