Reno, Nevada: Researcher reviews novel intelligence system in 2010 Haitian cholera epidemic

Dr. James Wilson, associate research professor and director of the Nevada Medical Intelligence Center for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Community Health Sciences, recently published an article entitled “The use of intelligence to determine attribution of the 2010 Haiti cholera disaster”. The article discusses the role of the new intelligence system called the Haiti Epidemic Advisory System (HEAS) in the 2010 cholera disaster. Dr. Wilson reviews the data collected by HEAS and its role in determining the United Nations’ involvement in the epidemic.

Dr. Wilson’s research primarily focuses on infectious disease forecasting as well as determining the risk of disease to national security.
