Dr. Qiana Brown, assistant professor at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has been named a “Future Influencer in Addiction Science” by the Society for the Study of Addiction.
Dr. Brown is an epidemiologist and social worker whose research examines how the social environment shapes substance use and other health outcomes among women, youth, and families. Dr. Brown earned a PhD in drug dependence epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in substance use epidemiology at Columbia University. Dr. Brown founded and directs a community-based drug treatment center, “Jane’s House of Inspiration,” which focuses on helping women, families, and communities address problems related to substance abuse disorders.
Dr. Brown has appointments at the Rutgers School of Public Health and Rutgers School of Social Work.Tags: Friday Letter Submission
