NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC), a consultant to ASPPH, is conducting an assessment of an ASPPH-managed preparedness project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The goal of the project is to accelerate the implementation of selected public health emergency preparedness resources and tools in the field of public health. NORC is interested in gathering information from public health preparedness practitioners about their familiarity with and perceived usefulness of preparedness tools and resources developed through the project, in addition to potential barriers to implementation of the tools and persisting emergency preparedness information needs. Feedback from practitioners will provide information about the utility and dissemination of evidence-based tools and trainings and identify workforce development opportunities in public health practice settings.
NORC is currently seeking participation on a focus group by public health preparedness practitioners from federal, state, tribal, local, and/or territorial health departments. Two separate focus groups will take place during the upcoming 2017 Preparedness Summit in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27 from 12:00 – 1:30 PM. If you are interested in participating, or would like more information, please contact Ms. Noelle Miesfeld, NORC project manager, at email@example.com.
