Researchers from the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health’s department of exercise science completed a study converting between estimates of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) derived from raw accelerations measured at the wrist and from ActiGraph counts measured at the hip. The study was led by postdoctoral fellow Dr. Keith Brazendale and published in the Journal of Sports Sciences.
The purpose of this study was to enhance researchers’ ability to compare published group-level estimates of youth’s objectively measured MVPA.
