The National Alliance Against Mental Illness (NAMI), Capital Region, NY Chapter, recently presented Dean Philip C. Nasca with an Appreciation Award at its October 2016 annual meeting. The award, presented by Mr. Paul Klein, president of NAMI Capital Region, was given in recognition of Dean Nasca’s ongoing support of the programs and services of NAMI Capital Region, NY Chapter. A second award, accepted by Dean Nasca, was presented to the school’s faculty and staff for their research and work related to integration of mental and physical health and the school’s ongoing support of NAMI’s programs and services. The featured speaker of the evening was Congressman Paul Tonko who reviewed the status of Federal legislation designed to provide access to high-quality care for the mentally ill.
