Temple Student Finds Gaps in Transplant Services in Long Term Care

Ms. Megan Urbanski, a PhD student in Temple University’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, had her first article published March 22 in the journal Progress in Transplantation.

After surveying 126 kidney transplant professionals in long-term care settings, Urbanski and her colleagues at Temple’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine and the University of South Carolina concluded that there is currently consensus on how best to offer kidney transplant to patients living in these kinds of facilities. Further research should include a broader range of kidney transplant professionals and should also include a study of outcomes in this patient population. Access the full paper here.
