Texas A&M Alum Regional Director of Texas Hunger Initiative

Texas A&M alum Dr. Elaine Hernandez, is the regional director of the Baylor University Texas Hunger Initiative working on food security issues. She also is a technical consultant with Rotary International, reviewing health projects funded by the Rotary Foundation, which recently lead her to 18 villages in Guatemala to evaluate maternal and child health projects.  Additionally, she is working with the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala City in developing a new School of Public Health in Guatemala. Previously, she worked with the Mexican Red Cross, Canadian Red Cross and the American Red Cross throughout Latin America on infectious disease containment, emergency preparedness and maternal and child health.
