Drs. Marcia Ory, and Matthew Lee Smith, of the Texas A&M School of Public Health, have been named co-specialty chief editors for the “Aging and Public Health” section of Frontiers in Public Health. Drs. Ory and Smith, who serve as co-directors of the Texas A&M Center for Population Health and Aging, will guide the growth and quality of the section and establish a board of editors to handle submissions. To ensure the breadth of perspective and global applicability, editors and authors will be selected from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia. Working in partnership with the Frontiers editorial team, Drs. Ory and Smith will also help determine the research themes to be featured in the Aging and Public Health section.
The new section, which will launch this fall, aims to advance the scientific basis of knowledge and action to improve the health and quality of life for older adult populations and enhance research practice and policy related to aging.Tags: Friday Letter Submission, Publish on September 20
